Mission Statement: Picture Me Happy aspires to stimulate the healing process and enhance a sense of overall well being by bringing the creative process of a photography based program to chronically and terminally ill children in hospitals and hospices.  Picture Me Happy accomplishes this goal by encouraging children to shoot their own photos and then to use the photos to design their own personal magazines.

Picture a day in the life of a seriously ill, hospitalized child.  Visions might come
to mind of a child in a confined, restricted environment, medical personnel providing care and treatment, the child submitting to their prescribed regimen, not capable of much activity and limited involvement with other children. This is the
daily experience for thousands of children throughout America.

There is a solution.

Story Name: Nappy Girl

"This is a Nappy Headed model. Flying in from Paris to take her new shoots.  And the nappy Headed girls name is Miyah.  At first she thought her pictures was ugly.  But she looked at them again then she said What am I talking about.
I look Beutiful!!!"

At two weeks in the hospital, battling serious illness with no family present; Miyah's spirit was lifted and able to shine a little brighter.  She expressed herself in her writtings through Picture Me Happy's personal creative process.
